I Spent $80 on an Extra-Legroom Seat, It’s Not Fair That a Woman Got It for Free

I recently paid $80 for extra legroom on a 6-hour flight, feeling relieved when a mom with a crying baby sat in a cheaper section. Later, after pleading with the flight attendant, she was moved to the premium section—right next to me.

Frustrated by the noise, I asked the flight attendant why I paid extra while she got the upgrade for free. I was told, “We’re doing our best to accommodate families.” While I understand traveling with kids is tough, I couldn’t help feeling it was unfair that I paid for comfort, only for someone else to receive it without the cost.

Should paying customers expect consistent policies, or is fairness no longer a priority for airlines?

Sincerely,
David
