Fed up with her constant visits, I secretly swapped her key with a fake one. One day, she tried to get in again but couldn’t, and I pretended not to be home. She called a locksmith, and that’s when she found out the key was fake. The next day at a family gathering, she mentioned the fake key. I said, “It’s useless for emergencies but perfect for keeping out uninvited quests.” Everyone laughed, and my MIL turned red. Now, she won’t talk to me. My husband thinks what I did was very rude.
