My son, Robert, has been dating this girl for six months now. hadn’t met her or
even heard her name until recently. All I knew was that he met her at a café near his college, and apparently, she was too shy to meet us. Recently, Robert decided to take things to the next level and proposed to her. My son’s engagement thrilled me, so I invited his fiancée over for dinner to meet her. But when I saw her face, I froze, letting out a deep sigh. She looked utterly confused by my reaction. As she
introduced herself, I recognized her! Keeping my composure, guided her to the kitchen to “help me,” then immediately locked her in and yelled to my son, “Call the police!” Shocked, my son demanded to know why. I explained, “She’s a scammer!”
When the police arrived, they clarified the mix-up, explaining that she had been mistaken for the scammer before. Even one officer confirmed that the real culprit had a similar name, and she was finally detained. Ashamed, I apologized. She was very embarrassed and didn’t accept my apology, leaving in tears. My son followed her, but five minutes later, he came back inside, extremely angry with me. He screamed in my face for making accusations against his fiancée, and he hasn’t spoken to me since. Now, I don’t know what to do to fix this situation. I wish I could turn back time, but I can’t. Any ideas on how to fix this would be highly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Claudia.
